waiting for the sun
the day will come
its natural rhythm
lulling us through time
the work of day
will tire us soon
and we will slow down
until sleep comes
with the dark

and so it is
with a life
as we are born
into the light
to do our work
and slowly, gently
return to dusk
as our sun
